Partner with us
We work with manufacturers and affiliate programmes in this category. Here is exactly what that can and cannot look like, stated up front so nobody wastes a week finding out.
What we will do
- Add your product to the catalog, if it belongs there on its published specifications and it is something we would send a reader to. Every catalog entry carries the manufacturer own figures, and the more you publish the better the entry reads.
- Correct an error about your product immediately. If we have a specification wrong, send the published source and it is fixed the same week.
- Join your affiliate programme where you run one directly rather than through a network, which usually produces better data for both sides.
- Take a briefing on what a product actually does. Manufacturer technical documentation is genuinely useful to us, particularly published current draw, cone angles and capacity figures that are hard to find.
What we will not do
- Claim to have tested something. We do not test equipment in person, we say so on every page, and no arrangement changes that. A sponsored review that reads as hands-on testing would be a lie about the one thing this site is built on.
- Sell a top pick. Placement in a roundup comes from published specifications and owner review consensus. It is not for sale, and the tiers exist so that a cheaper product can win its tier honestly.
- Remove a caveat. Where a product has a real limitation, it stays on the card. Our caveats are frequently the safety information.
- Publish an estimated figure. If you do not publish a number, we will not print one. That applies to competitors too, which is usually the point people find persuasive.
What we are interested in
The categories where readers most often ask a question nobody answers well: published current draw across a motor range, transducer cone angles at each frequency, real charge acceptance figures for a lithium pack, and hull capacity methodology for kayaks. If your technical documentation covers any of those properly, we would like a copy and we will cite you.
