AnglerTechCalc participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
The short version
When you click a product link on this site and buy something, we earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra. That is how the site pays for itself, and it is the only way it makes money: there are no sponsored placements, no paid top picks and no arrangement where a manufacturer can buy a position.
What it changes and what it does not
It changes which products we can write about, because we can only link to things that are actually for sale. It does not change which one wins a tier. Placement comes from published specifications, published engineering figures and the consensus of verified owner reviews, and the tier structure exists so that a cheap product can win the beginner tier honestly rather than being treated as the loser of an expensive one.
The clearest way to check that claim is to look at what these pages tell you not to buy. Every expert tier on the site carries a section naming who should not buy it. Every rig carries a section on what you can skip. Several categories carry no recommendation at all, because the search results were entirely unbranded sellers and we would rather say so than link one.
Where the links are
Product names, images, prices and buttons all link to the retailer. Where a product genuinely has no listing we can verify, we link a scoped search instead and say on the page that we could not find a specific product worth recommending. That happens more often than you might expect in this category and it is the correct outcome rather than a gap.
Prices
Prices shown on this site come from the retailer API at the time each page was generated and they move constantly. Treat every figure here, including the rig totals, as a planning number rather than a quote. The price on the product page is the one that governs.
Other programmes
At present Amazon Associates is the only affiliate programme this site participates in. If that changes, this page changes with it.
